GMAT

This is a test generally taken by students seeking a business or management degree abroad. This is an adaptive computer test that measures a student’s analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in English. Contrary to popular belief, this test does not assess intelligence or business skills. The exam is more about assessing a person’s analytical and problem-solving skills and a comprehensive assessment of the person’s logical, critical thinking, and data sovereignty.

GRE and GMAT are two exams that any student looking to earn a business degree will want to focus on. The results of this exam are accepted worldwide and a good score here can open up a world of possibilities for students. This exam is conducted by the GMAC, Graduate Management Admission Council, and is accepted by thousands of universities around the world.

FORMAT

The GMAT exam consists mainly of four sections: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal Testing. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The duration of the analytical writing test is 30 minutes and includes the analysis of an argument. The integrated thinking section also lasts 30 minutes, while the person’s thinking and analytical skills are assessed using 12 questions. The quantitative part lasts about 75 minutes and consists of 37 questions and is primarily concerned with data sufficiency and problem solving. The verbal section consists of 41 questions and lasts about 75 minutes. Includes reading comprehension, critical thinking, and sentence construction.

Before the verbal part there is a pause of about 10 minutes. There is also now a new feature that allows you to preview your unofficial GMAT results before deciding whether to accept or cancel them. This gives you much more control over your score reports. GMAC has also announced a new change that will allow students to choose which questions to answer first, making the format more flexible.
